So, tattoos. Today I’m going to be talking about inking your body in honour of your favourite book or author. What do you think? Would you ever get a literary tattoo?
A tattoo is the ultimate body modification – piercings can be taken out and (some) can heal up but tattoos really are forever, unless you want to invest in expensive and painful removal surgery! The idea of a tattoo can seem exciting but, as it is such a permanent thing, it has to be something you’ll never get bored of. Would you be happy to have that quote on your body when you’re eighty five? If not, no tattoo for you!
I have five tattoos but none of them are related to books. One is a bit of a personal mantra (I’m a walking cliche, I know) but the others are all abstract. I’d love a quote from a book tattooed on me but it’s not something I’ll get done now – I’ve had my dabble with body modification so I don’t feel the need to get anything else. Never say never, though, I guess!
Whatever you think about tattoos, I don’t think anyone can deny that there are some stonkingly beautiful tattoos out there that are inspired by books! I’ve picked out a few of my favourites – what do you think?
